Human and Computer Interaction

The mobile application that I think has bad interface is camera connect by canon. Many people use
this application to transfer images shot from camera to smartphone, Remote shoot with live view
imaging of the camera from a smartphone, and many others. The user for this mobile application is
canon lovers and also photographer who use canon camera.
I think this mobile application’s interface is bad because the color is very monotone, the color are
only black, grey, orange, and white. Second, it has a lot of free space from middle to bottom part of
the interface. The button only put on the top. Because of that, I think user cannot easily click/touch the
button because finger that usually use for touch/click is thumbs. Third one is, in my opinion the color
that this mobile application use is not represent canon itself. Canon has red logo and kind of elegant
and masculine vibes, but in this application, I cannot see that. This mobile application’s interface
doesn’t have canon logo which I think it is important.
So after I look at the interface and analyze it, I came up with few ideas. First, as you can see in my
design, I change the button bigger and the button are from middle-up to bottom part of the design so
our thumbs can reach it. Next, I change the color so the mobile application represents more of canon
logo or concept. After that, for the background, I put canon camera so it looks more aesthetic. I still
keep the design from the mobile application which is the easy connection guide button and the symbol
of the Bluetooth, camera, and Wi-Fi because I think it is very good design and easy to understand.
Last, I put canon logo on top of the design.
So I think that’s all for my opinion and my suggestion for this mobile application. Please look at my
