EROSION CONTROL 7-4 General Contractor shall study erosion, and report in the Engineering Pian measures to controt erosion. ‘The report shall detall the measures that Contractor intends fo take during construction to prevent erosion of the disturbed areas of the right-of-way. ‘The report shall also detail the measures that will be taken during rectamation of the rightof- way following construction fo ensure the continued stability and integrity of the Pipelines and surroundings. Drawings showing proposed serthworks and recommendations for renegotiation shall be prepared as part of the detailed design. ‘The report shall address the need for concrete, as opposed to soll-ined runoff channels, and shall discuss means of dissipation of energy of runoff from steep slopes. ‘The report shall be-subject to approval. No construction activities shall commence until the report has been accepted by Company. 8, CROSSINGS 8.1 General ‘The design and drawing format of crossings of all waterways, roads, rallways, drainage schemes, and utiities shall conform to the requirements of authorities having jurisdiction, Contractor's design shall- also consider any future expansions and realignments of the facilities being crossed. The design of all crossings shall include suitable markers to warn the general public of the high pressure Pipelines. Marker design shall be approved by Company prior to marker fabrication. 8.2 Crossings of Hard Surfaced Roads Crossings of hard surfaced (asphalt, bitumen, concrete) or public roads shall be designed to permit installation by boring without disturbance to the road surface. Open cut crossings of hard surfaced roads or public roads are not permitted. Crossings of such roads shall be designed as uncased, using pipe designed for Type B ‘construction in Class 1 locations, and Type C construction in Class 2 and 8 locations which shall extend across the full width of the road reserve. ‘The depth of cover shall conform to the requirements of the authority having jurisdiction but shall not be fess than 1.2 m at any point in the road reserve. Contractor shall prepare a specific drawing for each hard surfated or public road crossed. The drawing shall show plan and profile of the existing road and adjacent land and the proposed plan and profile of the Pipeline. The proposed profile of the Pipeline shall show pipe elevations within the road reserve and a minimum of 25 meters on either side, Contractor shall determine the requirements of the authority having jurisdiction regarding drawing format and information fo be included.
