“emp. ‘SENG SEGAT PHASE-S DEVELOPMENT PROJECT empowering peagie f ‘Specification Piptine Design “+ Effects On Other Buried Metallic Structures ‘+ Contractor shall study and report on the effects of the proposed cathade protection system on other buried metallic structures such as electrical pylon foundations, pipelines and reinforcing steel in bridge foundations, “-——~-— = # Contractor shall propose and institute measures to mitigate or eliminate adverse effects on—— other buriad metalic structures. 12. VALVE AND PIG TRAP STATIONS. 12.4 General Contractor shall engineer and design sectionalizing valves, side valves and pig launchers and receivers for installation at the sites specified by Company. An equalizing line’ shall he designed ‘around all valves NPS 12 and larger (as indicated on P&IDs), except those incorporated in a venting ‘or bypass application, 42.2 Location * Quantity and exact locations of valve and pig trep stations shail be determined by Contractor. ‘+ Exact location and access roads are shown on plot plans or shall be determined by Contractor. 12.3 Design of Sectionalizing Valve Assemblies * Sectionalizing valves shall be designed in accordance with P&IDS. In addition to the primary function of isolating sections of the Pipeline, sectionalizing valve assemblies shall be designed to permit venting of gas through a remote stack at the far edge of the rightoFway, by-pass around the mainline valve, gas supply to the valve operator and access for instrumentation and gas sampling equipment. Design shell also permit use of a mobile compressor to evaouate gas from one side of a sectionalizing vaive to the other. © Sectionalizing valves for liquid lines shall be designed in accordance with P&IDs. In addition to Isolating sections of the Pipelines, the valve assemblies shall be designed to permit bypassing around the mainline valve, and access for instrumentation and gas sampling equipment. . 42.4 Design of Pig Traps = Pig trap design shall be in accordance with Company Specification, Pig Launcher and Receiver and in accordance with P&ID’s * Pig traps shall be designed to launch and recaive “On Line Inspection" (OLI) tools, spheres oF other devices without interruption to transmission of product. ‘+ The internal diameter of pig trap barrels shall exceed that of the Pipeline by @ minimum of 50 mm. The length of the barrel shall be adequate to accommadate OL tools (¢.g. British Gas). ‘+ Pig trap tees and other branch connections shall allow free passage of scrapers with cups, spheres or gauging plates. The branch connection shall be provided with guide bars where the branch exceeds 60 percent of the run bore or is larger than 8 inch NPS. + Pig traps shall be provided with tight sealing end closures. The closure shall be quick opening, hinged or davit supported, and provided with mechanical devices needed to assist with closure opening or closing. Safety devices shall be provided such that the closure ‘cannot be opened as fong as there is preissure in the trap and that a warning will be alven if an attempt is made to disengage he closure's locking mechanism while the trap is stil under
