I LOVE ADONARA ISLAND

Hi.............
My name is Avi Bahy,i am come from Adonara .Now i am in grade one, semester
one in Bhaktyarsa Junior High school,Maumere.I love Adonara so much, because
Adonara is a place where i was born and Adonara is an also lovely place with a good
people,an unique tradition, and a fantastic view.At this place,i live with my family and
another people that has a good attitude. In Adonara you can see that cooperation and
responsibility is a tradition and culture in Adonara.I will tell you about adonara island.
Adonara is an one island in East Flores Regency .First of all,i will tell you about
the typical food from Adonara that is “Jagung Titi”. It is make from corn.Even though
it tastes tasteless but it is very popular with the people of Adonara.
To make “Jagung titi” its not easy.Just a people that always make it can do.But
everyone can practice to make it.In our village my friends can make it but not very
perfect like there grand mother or there mother makes.
And the second is about the one traditional dance from Adonara island that is
Hedung. This dance is use to welcome the important person like a Regent.
Adonara has a weaving arts too, that is “Kwatek” for women and “Nowing” for
man. These weaves have different motives.Another thing that distinguishes Kwatek
Adonara from other weaving arts is that the use of cotton-made yarns is a mixture,
although only a little, but certainly always there.
Adonara island has a variety of beautiful natural potential. This island has many
beautiful beach. One of the most famous and most beautiful beach in Adonara is
Watotena Beach. The name of this beach is actually Neren Watotena, but the people
of Adonara always call it Watotena Beach.Watotena Beach is at East Adonara in
Nelerereng Village . Watotena means a boat of stone, or a stone in the shape of a boat.
This can be seen from the black rock that surrounds the shoreline and is shaped like a
boat. The view on Watotena Beach is very beautiful, with the gentle waves and with
the view of the mountain "ile boleng" and the island of Lembata and also the island of
Solor, making you feel comfortable and want to be here longer. For the problem of
cleanliness in this place, of course it is a top priority, tourists are forbidden to dispose
of litter, and do not smoke or take drinks to the coast (if smoking or enjoying drinks
and food, have provided a place or cottage).
The beach with white sand and clear and blue sea is even more amazing when the sun
sets, it makes anyone fall in love with this beach.
The second beautiful beach at Adonara island is Mekong Beach in meko
village.Meko beach is a small island consisting of only white sand lies in the middle
of the sea. Here we will be fascinated by the unique beauty of the scenery. The beach
which is also called”Pasir Timbul” its also surrounded by three active volcanoes, that
is “ Ile Ape” Volcano located in Lembata Regency, “Ile Boleng”Volcano located on
Adonara and “Mount Batutar” which are located deep in the middle of the sea.In
addition, this beach is flanked by two small islands, namely Nuha Watanpeni Island. It
is a small island located on the left and another small island on the right which is only
inhabited by a group of bats. That why the island is known as Bat Island. This place is
very beautiful with the pink sand comes from a broken coral, this beauty looks perfect
with a combination of lush green island.
Its take a long trip to reach this charming beach, but on the way to this island, we will
be treated to a view that is very beautiful. We will cross the Mero Sea where the water
is very clear. And along the way we will see colorful coral reefs. While during the trip
we will be treated to a beautiful view. If we look back we will see “Ile Boleng” In the
left and right sides there is the Sandosi Hill and Lembata island.
These are fantastic right?....oh what a beautiful view of God's majestic work.
That’s why i love Adonara island.I hope this island can always be my lovely place
today and ever.
