It’s amazing how these simplistic tools of communication (Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram,

Twitter, etc.) have grown into multi-million dollar businesses. With Facebook and Instagram
steadily climbing the ladder of financial gain, Twitter and now Snapchat have grown slow in the
game of technology. Snapchat has long been seen as a simple tool to send quick pictures to
your friends and family, telling them about your day which is so dumb it’s genius. We are seeing
the course that Snapchat has been running is coming to a stop and unless Snapchat does
something with the marketing and brand name soon, they could very well see themselves out
the door with Myspace. I found the three areas of improvement very interesting, those being
demographics, content, and future ideas. Advertising and marketing are built on these
principles and yet so many businesses tend to forget about these basics and get lost in the sea
of their own ideas and creations. Snapchat might be floundering with their new changes and
ideals being flipped around but if they can steady their feet, dig their hands into that
competitive drive they had when they first released the app, and brought out some new
features throughout the year, they could have a very successful 2017.
