3. Answer scripts can be uploaded on BlackBoard any time before its deadline.
Therefore, do not wait for the last hour to avoid any unforeseen problems.

4. Submission of answer copies will be considered acceptable through BlackBoard only.

5. Use 12 pt. font size and Times New Roman font style along with 1-inch page margins.

6. Follow the requirements of the word limit and the marking criteria while writing your
answers.

7. Provide relevant, original and conceptual answers, as this exam aims to test your ability to
examine, explain, modify or develop concepts discussed in class.

8. Do not copy answers from the Internet or other sources. The plagiarism of your answers will
be checked through Turnitin.

9. Recheck your answers before the submission on BlackBoard to correct any content or
language related errors.

10. Double check your MS Word file before uploading it on BlackBoard to ensure that you have
uploaded the correct file with your answers.
Answer the following questions clearly and concisely:

1. Give a specific example of how you have exerted leadership on or off the job in a
situation in which you did not have a formal leadership position. Explain why you
describe your activity as leadership.

2. Identify a prominent Pakistani business leader who you think is ‘highly effective.’
Choose a leader who is currently active in business or industry and is also well known to
the faculty members and the average educated person in Pakistan. Do NOT select obscure
personalities from your own organization or your own family, community, or
acquaintances. Explain in very specific terms why you think he or she is ‘highly
effective’ as a leader. Support your answer by giving relevant references to concepts
presented in the text.

3. Top-level leaders of major business corporations receive some of the highest


compensation packages in the workforce. This is true in Pakistan as well as the developed
world. Explain in very specific terms why business leaders are paid so much. Discuss at
least three reasons

4. Explain how being highly self-confident in a given leadership situation might not be an
advantage. Discuss at least three reasons.

5. ‘Authenticity’ is an indispensable quality for leaders as discussed in Chapter # 2. What


would lead you to conclude that a leader was non-authentic (phony)? Discuss at least
three reasons.

GRADING CRITERIA: This exam carries a maximum of 25 marks on a scale of 100. All
questions carry equal marks. Your answers will be graded on the following criteria: correct and
complete understanding of the topic/issue raised in the question, originality of information
presented in the answers, clear and logical presentation of ideas, worded in simple English, use
of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and capitalization. Submissions in PDF format will
result in ‘F’ grade.

Answers that make no sense to the faculty will lead to grades that will make no sense to you!
Check your work through spell check and grammar check before submission.
