(4) Store in Plastic bottle. Put stopper and label on the bottle. Use the Solution within One
month
(E) Method of Analysis.
(1) Dissolve 1.0 gm Ammonia in D.M.water and make the volume 100-ml D.M.Water.
(2) Take 10 ml above Sample.
(3) Using 2-3 drop Phenolphthalein Indicator.
(4) Triturate against N/10 H2SO4 Solution.
(5) Note the Burette reading. (A)
(F) Calibration
(1) Take 10 ml H2SO4 in Beaker.
(2) Add Methyl Orange as Indicator.
(3) Triturate against N/10 Na2CO3.
(4) Color Change Red To Yellow.
(5) Note the Reading, It should be near By 10 ml Consume N/!0 Na2CO3.
(G) Calculation
(1) 1000 ml 1 N H2SO4 = 17.0 gm NH3
(2) 1.0 ml 0.1 N H2SO4 = 0.0017 gm NH3 = 1.700 milligram NH3
(3) In 10 ml Sample, Qty of NH3 (B) milligram. = ( A ) x 1.700
(4) In 100 ml Sample Qty. Of NH3 ( C ) mg = ( B ) x 10
(5) In 1.0 gm Sample Qty. Of NH3 ( D ) gm = ( C ) / 1000
(6) In % Of NH3 = ( D ) x 100 / gm of Sample
