1. What is Gatsby’s real history? Where is he from and what is his name?

James Gatz and he is from North Dakota. Gatsby’s parents were dirt poor
farmers and he went to college for two weeks being a janitor to pay for it.

2. What did Dan Cody do for Gatsby? What did Gatsby learn from him?

Dan cody was saved by Gatsby on a stormy night. Afterwards, Dan gave
Gatsby a job and taught him how to act rich.

3. How does Gatsby act when the visiting trio (including Tom Buchanan)
comes to visit? How do they act toward him?

Gatsby tries to act polite however the trio treats Gatsby as part of the “newly
rich” of West egg.

4. Why does Tom immediately sense that Gatsby is a bootlegger?

Before the meetup, Tom did some background research on Gatsby and
found out what was going on in the drug stores. Gatsby had been selling
illegal grain alcohol.
 5. What does Gatsby desire from Daisy?

Gatsby desires to start a new chapter with Daisy from the moment he met her. This
determination and obsession for Daisy is the only thing which Gatsby cannot have.
