What is coronavirus

¿What is coronavirus?

R= It is an extensive family of viruses that can cause disease in both

animals and humans. This is explained simply by the World Health
Organization (WHO).

¿What is COVID-19?

R= Known as coronavirus disease or, incorrectly, as coronavirus

pneumonia, it is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2
virus. It was first detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan (Hubei
province) in December 2019. It extended to almost every country in
the world for three months, which is why the World Health
Organization declared it a pandemic.

¿What are the symptoms of covid-19?

R= The symptoms can be:

1-Sore throat.

2-cough.

3-fever

4-Difficulty breathing (in severe cases).

Can someone spread the virus without being sick?

R= In my opinion, not since the person does not suffer from the
symptoms.

¿What can you do to prevent yourself and others from getting

coronavirus?

R= 1-Wear a mask.

2-Clean your hands frequently.

3-Cover your nose and mouth when coughing and sneezing.

4-Cleaning of surfaces.

5-Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

6-Maintain social distance.

7-Greet with the elbow, with movements of the head taking a small
distance.

¿why is this worse than normal influenza, and how worried are the
experts?

R= Coronavirus and influenza share many similar symptoms,

making it difficult to diagnose the infection without testing. The main
symptoms to watch out for with the coronavirus are fever and cough.
The flu often has other symptoms, such as muscle pain and a sore
throat, and people with coronaviruses may have trouble breathing.

According to Golding: "Right now, until we have more information, it

is really difficult to know how concerned we should be."

"Until we have confirmation from the source, that will always bother
us."

For Ball, "We should be concerned about any virus that scans
humans for the first time, because it has already overcome the first
major barrier."

"Once inside a [human] cell and reproducing, it can start to generate

mutations that could allow it to spread more efficiently and become
more dangerous."

¿what should you do if you have temperature or a cough?

R= Consult a doctor, and do not self-medicate, and go to the

nearest health center.

¿whant do phrases like "community spread" and "social distancing"

mean?

R= Social distancing

This term describes a set of measures that help reduce the speed
with which the disease spreads. It means avoiding crowds, not
shaking hands with other people, staying home if you are sick, and
always staying several feet away from other people. That distance,
experts say, should be 6 feet.
"If you cough, sneeze, or even talk and get some saliva, this usually
goes up to 3 feet in the air," says Dudley, "so [health experts] double
that distance to minimize the chance that someone be infected. "

Community outreach

This phrase means that people in a specific place have been

infected by the virus and that the members of that community do not
know how they got it. You do not necessarily contract the disease
when traveling to places where it is frequent. They are contracting it
without leaving their own communities.

"Just like when you have a cold or the flu, you often don't know who
hit you," says Dudley.

¿Can our pets get sick?

R= The World Health Organization (WHO) has ensured that "there is

no evidence" that companion animals such as dogs or cats may be
infected with COVID-19, so they cannot spread it.
