Dear Sirs,

I am pleased to write this letter in order to apply for a position in summer school at Asia
University Taiwan.  I have decided to apply for this programme because I am sure it would
strongly enrich my future studies and help me in my prospective career. Moreover I consider
this programme as a great opportunity My name is Ahmad Mochtar Jamil, and I am a student
of Medical Faculty at the Muhammadiyah University in Surabaya. I am 17 years old and my
hobbies are travelling and riding bycycle.

There are various reasons that make me want to join study exchange. First of all, is the
opportunity to gain international experience. This would give me a chance to deepen my
medical knowledge in the inspiring and creative of one of the campus in Taiwan.
Furthermore I could improve my English and increase my confidence in passing the TOEFL
examinations after I return. Moreover, I am confident that my experience in Taiwan would be
extremely exciting, fun, and valuable for both my studies and overall general development. I
think studying, living and having a good time with other international students will broaden
my horizon and enable to build friendships with other students from all over the world. With
good relation we can solve many problem because you will have many friend with many
kinds of abilities and also we will reach many dream with that abilities. In summer school
seems like the perfect opportunity to meet a completely different culture, learn another
language, experience other educational system and enrich my curriculum vitae, as well as
gain more independence. So we not always stuck in that condition which we are as social
creatures will need one each other and the way to get it is meet a different culture and
adaption with many kinds of people around the world. Also we will have new experience in
other country which is in Indonesia we don’t get it. Besides that, we will know many
education system which will be different from our country and other country where we learn,
from that we can pick what is good for our system and what we must change or remove for
the new system of our education to create better education system.

I am confident I would prove to be an enthusiastic and hard working student.
