This paper presents the popularity of green products amongst consumers in Palakkad
District Kerala. green product is a sustainable product designed to minimize the
environmental impacts during its whole life cycle and even after it's of no use Recently,
concerns have been expressed by manufacturers and customers about the environmental
impact of products. Consumers and manufacturers have directed their attention toward
environment friendly products that are presumed to be “green” or environment friendly like
low power consuming (energy-efficient) electrical appliances, organic foods, lead free paints,
recyclable paper, and phosphate free detergents. The objective of the study is to identify the
factors influencing the consumers to purchase green products and to evaluate the usefulness
of green products amongst consumers in Palakkad district of Kerala. This paper also attempts
to consolidate findings & suggestions about the popularity of green products amongst
consumers.
