Persepolis Panel Analysis

For each section from our reading, choose one panel that depicts an important scene or moment. Examine each panel in order to determine its significance
to the story - plot, character development, or theme.

As you are choosing a panel, think about:

● How is this panel important to the story?
● How does this reveal something about the main character?
● What does this panel convey about freedom or oppression?

Analyze the significance of this panel to the chapter. Why is it important? Why does the author (Satrapi) include this? Why does she make those particular choices noted
above? A complete answer is 3-5 sentences in length.
I believe the importance of the panels in this chapter is to make you feel the emotions that Marjanes father is feeling. Also the panel shows the danger he is in by taking these
photos and how he could be punished if he is caught. Finally I feel like this important because we also get to know how Marjanes feels every time her dad goes out to take
pictures. The waiting inside the house for her father to come home, but there being no guarantee that he will.
