“Personal Legend” Project

In The Alchemist, the old man explains to Santiago what a Personal Legend is:

It’s what you have always wanted to accomplish. Everyone, when they are young, knows what

their Personal Legend is. At that point in their lives, everything is possible. They are not afraid to

dream, and to yearn for everything they would like to see happen to them in their lives. (p. 21)

In a multimedia presentation, share yourself and your Personal Legend with us. Include

the following criteria:

● Define yourself. Who are you? What interests and activities help define you?

● Who or what has influenced you and your Personal Legend?

● What is your Personal Legend? Define it in terms of your childhood dreams.

● What obstacles or brick walls do you face in trying to achieve your Personal

Legend? How will you overcome them?

● Identify a literary work that has a personal meaning for you. This work may be a

poem, story, multimedia text, or even a song.

● Identify a meaningful personal truth or motto. How does it apply to your life?

● Incorporate images into your presentation, especially images of yourself.
