How to prevent termite on furniture

Termite is a eusocial insect. It feeds on wood and becomes a pest. Before you deal with this
insect, you have to know how termite looks like. It varies by species. Termites species are
damp wood, dry wood, subterranean, and Formosan. The size between ¼ inch and ½ inch
long with soft bodies. They have straight antennae. The colors range from light brown to
white. If you have a question like ‘can termite fly?’, the answer is ‘Yes.’ If you see they are
flying, it means they are adult reproductive termites.

Termite on furniture is very dangerous. We do not know when the infestation creeps
begin. Subterranean and dry wood termites love to damage. The subterranean termites live
in soil and wood, while dry wood termites only live in the wood. Moist condition supports
them to make colonies. They start to destroy the wooden foundations in the beginning and
continue to destroy all. To notice termite in wood furniture, you have to identify it first.
Check the holes in the woodwork. If you push it and it falls, it means termite is there. You
also could check its wings around. Subterranean termites usually make mud tube
formations. You may see it on the walls.
