1. Take pairs of pictures from the exam booklet / textbook / Internet.

2. Students look at the prompt card:

Similarities

Differences

3. Students take turns to turn over / choose one of 16 question words:

WHAT? WHO? DOING? WHY?

WHERE? WHEN? FEELINGS? WEATHER?

RELATIONSHIP? JUST HAPPENED? GOING TO HAPPEN? LANDSCAPE?

ATMOSPHERE? CLOTHES? BACKGROUND? SEASON?

4. Students use the prompts to compare the photos. A focuses on


similarities and B on differences. Each time a prompt is used, students
tick it off and the words are put to one side / crossed out.
