ADJUSTMENTS 1 2. Turn the knob (6) for manual speedsetting fully counter-clockwise to the minimum speed position. Set the high speed stop screw (1) so that the upper end is flush with the top of the T-shaped speed adjustment nut (2). Turn on speedsetting air pressure 0.5 bar and adjust the nut (2) until the desired idle speed is obtained. Idle speed is normally 400 RPM, but it can for some reason be raised to 450-460 RPM. NOTE: The pneumatic low speed adjustment screw (15) must not touch the stop pin during this adjustment. Increase the air pressure slowly to 4.5 bar (corresponding to 750 RPM on the engine). The maximum speed may be 775 RPM instead of 750 RPM. The adjustment wili be the very same, just replace 750 RPM with the ac- tual speed. Check that the max. speed limiting valve (19) on the top of the servocylinder is not activated. If 750 RPM is obtained before the air pressure has reached 4.5 bar, the ball bearing (16) is moved towards the servocylinder. If 750 RPM is not obtained at 4.5 bar, the ball bearing is moved away from the servocy- linder. If adjustments as described under point 4 have taken place, it will be necessary to repeat the adjustments from point 3. Air pressure is increased to 4.5 bar (750 RPM). Turn the adjusting screw (17) clockwise until the engine speed just starts to decrease. After this turn the screw 1/4 to 1/2 turn back and lock. With an idle speedsetting air pressure of 0.5 bar, the pneumatic low speed adjustment screw (15) is adjusted so that it will just touch the stop pin (13). The screw is secured with the counter nut. NOTE! The counter nut should only be loosened or tightened with the engine stopped. Any rotation in the governor may cause the pilot valve plunger (11) to freeze in its bushing (12). Turn the piston stop screw (20) clockwise until it just contacts the top of the speedsetting piston and then back out three full turns (2.4 mm) and lock in position. 9. The air pressure is shut off and the knob (6) for manual speedsetting is turned until the engine speed is 750 RPM After this the high speed stop screw (1) is turned downwards until it will just contact the high-speed stop pin and thus blocks increased manual speedsetting. From a point on this arm, a link transfers the movements of the lever (up and down) on to a disc (44) from where the 4 microswitches (47) for control of the AUTOMALPHA system are activated by means of the arm (#5) and the cams (46). ADJUSTMENTS. A control lamp is connected to microswitch m3 (terminals 3 and minus in engine terminal box). 1. A parellel displacement of the engine's load curve takes place by adjusting the length of the link by turning the eccentric connecting link (43). The connecting link is secured by a screw. Shortening the link will give a parallel movement of the load curve towards decreased load, while lengthening means a movement towards increased load. 2. Changing the inclination of the load curves takes place by changing the position of the link's connecting point on the floating arm (48). ("A™ dim.). A decreased load at a high speed is obtained by moving the connecting point towards the power cylinder (31), while an increased load at a high revolution number is obtained by moving the connecting point towards the servo cylinder (23). 3. Having determined the inclination of the load curves, the microswitches m1, m2, and m4 are adjusted, The control lamps are connected and the activating points of the switches are adjusted by turning the cams (46), which are fixed by screws. Adjustment may take place at loaded to pump index (12). At this load all switches should be open and correspondingly all lamps dark. le running (400 RPM) and the engine is Load is decreased to pump index 11.5 by which the switch m1 should be activated. c. Load is decreased to pump index 8.5 by which the switch m2 should be activated. . Load is increased to pump index 13 by which the switch m3 should be activated. e. Load is increased to pump index 16 by which the switch m4 should be activated (m3 being aiso activated). After this adjustment a final check is made at 750 RPM, where the switches should be activated at the following values: Pump index 27 i“ " 24 (m1 being also activated) ® "99 - "32.
