Academic Achievement Reflection

My greatest academic achievement was receiving a 96% in English 12. English 12

was the subject that many students feared. I had English First Peoples 12 for my quarter 3
block. I didn’t know if my assignments were enough for a good grade. Therefore, I was
very worried. However, despite my worries, I received one of the highest grades in the
class: 96%.

Through the class, I was able to develop awareness and appreciation for different
cultures. I also learned the importance of protecting culture, as well as basic English skills,
such as creative writing or dialogue. Towards the end of the quarter, we learned formal
writing and essays.

During the class, I realized that I was good at understanding different cultures. I also
realized that I had a talent in writing, both creative and formal. One thing that the teacher
made us do often was to find meaning in the text. I found out that I was proficient at that
too.

This class will help me in the future by giving me knowledge and access on the
indigenous community, so that I can help them in the future. I can also get into a good
university with a high English 12 grade. I can also look into future career options in this
direction.

This was relevant to me because I am very interested in different cultures. English

12 is also a requirement for post-secondary. The writing skills taught in this class can also
be use in everyday lives. Therefore, this achievement is something of great value to me.s
