Day 1

What are your first impressions of Nash and his roommate?

They seem like they have a good friendship, but something is obviously off with the whole relationship between
them.

What is Schizophrenia and its’ symptoms? (internet)

Schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder that affects less than one percent of the U.S.
population. When schizophrenia is active, symptoms can include delusions, hallucinations,

disorganized speech, trouble with thinking and lack of motivation.

What treatments did he receive?


John is ordered to under insulin shock therapy and take medication on the side to help cure his debilitating schizophrenia. These
shock therapy sessions are very violent and required restraints to hold him down while watched by a team of nurses and doctors.
What clues did Dr. Nash use to fight his illness?
He realized the medication would dull his emotions so he used his own will to be able to pull forward through
his emotions.
Day 3

What role do you feel his wife played in his recovery?


Alicia's actions help Nash to regain his grasp on reality and return to Princeton's academic community.

Day 4

What are the current treatments....how have they changed? (Movie and internet)

In the movie it showed terrible and not so useful ways to deal with schizophrenia like electroshock therapy. While
now in more recent times there is therapy and medications for people to have more understanding of their
emotions and surroundings.
