Voltas manufactures and markets India’s No.1 brand of Air Conditioners, with a substantial
lead over numerous multi-national competitors. It also has a lead position in commercial
refrigeration products and has forayed into Fresh Air Coolers, a new proposition in cooling.

Recently the Company has entered in to an equal partnership Joint Venture (JV) agreement
with Arçelik A.S.; part of the Koç Group – Turkey’s largest industrial and services group), to
enter the consumer durables market in the country. The proposed JV will leverage the strong
brand presence, and wide sales and distribution network of Voltas. Arçelik will bring to the
JV its strong R&D and manufacturing prowess, in addition to a wide product range and
global sourcing capabilities. Beko, the global brand of Arçelik A.Ş., has been the fastest
growing home appliances brand of Europe for the past 7 years. The complementary
strengths of the two partners will help build a sustainable consumer durables business in
India. The proposed JV will launch refrigerators, washing machines, microwaves and other
white goods / domestic appliances in India. A manufacturing facility will be set up in the
country, and the JV will also source products from Arçelik’s global manufacturing facilities
and vendor base. The JV will have an equity capital of USD 100 million.

For over 40 years, Voltas has been a well recognised engineering, procurement and
construction (EPC) contractor in India, the Middle East, South East Asia, and Africa,
undertaking iconic electro-mechanical projects encompassing HVAC (Heating, Ventilation,
Air Conditioning), electrical, building utilities such as plumbing, fire fighting and security,
office complexes, airports, metro-rail, malls, multiplexes, hospitals, ships and power plants.
Voltas’ India business now includes rural electrification and water treatment projects as well.
The company has repeatedly won prestigious awards such as the MEP Middle East award
for ‘MEP Contractor of the Year’ and ‘Overall GCC Project of the Year’. The company has
successfully undertaken and completed various specialised, multi-million dollar turnkey
projects in the Middle East, South East Asia, the CIS countries, Africa and SAARC countries.
These include electro-mechanical works for Burj Khalifa, Ferrari Experience, and Yas Marina
F1 racetrack in UAE.

Voltas’ engineering products and services span the spectrum from design and sourcing to
installation, commissioning, parts supply, training and maintenance of textile machinery, and
mining and construction equipment. In this segment, Voltas represents over 35 globally
renowned manufacturers. In Mining & Construction Equipment, the Company undertakes
sales and service activities for a variety of clients. In Textile Machinery, the Company’s
services span an entire spectrum from plant design and sourcing to installation, training,
parts supply and maintenance.
Voltas has its head office in Mumbai and regional offices in several major cities in India. Its
overseas offices are in Baharain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and
Singapore. The company has factories at Thane (Maharashtra), the union territory of Dadra
and at Pantanagar (Uttarakhand), in India.

Through its centres of excellence which the company has set up across 20 locations in India
Voltas reaches out to the economically weaker and socially disadvantaged youth to
empower them through skill training. The company also undertook the refurbishment of eight
balwadis (play schools) for the children of Mumbai police constables recently, besides
covering other major activities through its national importance function.
