EXPERIMENT 1: MEASUREMENT OF COLOUR OF FOOD PRODUCT

OBJECTIVE

To determine colour properties of food products using

PROCEDURE

Calibrate the chromameter

Prepare 10ml liquid sample into cuvette system

Press system button to determine the reflextance value.


reposition the sample 2 times during data acquisition

Rinse cuvette and replace with


another sample

Repeat step 2

Adjust the system to get a list of data for the X, Y, and Z; L ab and L a*b*.

Use data from tintometer to calculate the x and y value utilizing excel sheet as provided in the e-
learning system.
