ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT ANALYSIS-I LAB MANUAL

Objective:

Calculate and Measure the Resistance value using DMM and color code and find the
difference in ohm (Ω).

Required Equipment:

.Function Generator

.Resistor with color code

.Digital Multi-Meter

Table

S. No. Resistance Value (Ω) Difference(Ω)

Calculated Measured

1. 1.5KΩ 1.38kΩ 100Ω

2. 2.7KΩ 2.66KΩ 0.1kΩ=100Ω

3. 180KΩ 179Ω 1Ω

4. 330KΩ 333Ω 3Ω(absolute value)

5. 820KΩ 804Ω 16Ω

6. 2.2KΩ 2.12kΩ 0.1kΩ=100Ω

7. 680Ω 680Ω 0Ω

Methodology:

First calculate the resistance of the resistors by using color codes. Then switch on the multi-
meter to measure the value of resistance. Select the minimum range and measure
resistance by connecting both probes of meter to the ends of resistor. The reading will be
shown in meter. Remember to put the range of multi-meter higher than the resistance
value. Check whether the calculated and measured values are comparable. And find the
difference between calculated and measured value of resistors. Repeat the procedure for
different resistors available.

Conclusion:

We calculated the coded value of resistance and measure them by DMM. And find the
difference which is correct.
