Summary!
We Met All of Our Contract Goals:

✔ We Won Big Raises, More Paid Vacation & Sick Days

By standing together, Kluczynski SEIU Local 1 members won over $26,000 each in total
compensation over the term of the contract helping us build a better future for
ourselves, our families and our communities. We negotiated almost 12% raises,
increased hours and strengthened our contract with multiple important protections.

 ✔ WE STRENGTHENED OUR CONTRACT

● Huge Wage increases over last contract. You will receive now at least $2.30
increase over the term of the contract with over $10,000 extra in your pockets.

● 40 Hours workweek – we increased the workweek by 5 hours resulting in almost

$16,000 of additional income for members

● More paid vacation. Starting with 2 weeks in the 1st year, 3 weeks after 5 years &
4 weeks after 15 years

● Sick days – won for each member 7 PAID sick days per year. Can carry over up to
56 hours of sick leave form one year to the next. In addition each member will still
have 1 Personal Day

● Snow removal duties will receive an extra $1.25/hour above regular wages.

● Protected Healthcare – 100% Employer Paid, Increased Health & Welfare

contribution by Employers by $.05 per hour in year 3 of Contract.

● Protection –Temporary workers to be hired to replace workers on vacation/sick

leave or decrease duty of existing workforce covering them. Fought and won to
keep the language protecting from work over load.

● New contract – While employers fought for a 1-year agreement, Kluczynski’s

janitors won a strong long contract, effective from August 1, 2021 to January 31,
2025.
