It was clear that clear expectations and explicit instruction were critical for this class and as such I ensured I included inquiry questions at
the commencement of each history lesson which encompassed an outline of what would be happening for the rest of the lesson.

This annotation gives an example of why it is important to have a range of teaching strategies in mind so that activities can be adapted if
necessary. In this case it was clear that students needed a more scaffolded approach when analysing the video, so I played the video again
and paused on multiple occasions so students could identify key points more easily, rather than needing to recall a multitude of
information at the conclusion of the video.

My time guide was certainly generous when planning the lesson, and the students surprised me by completing the planned lesson quickly.
It was definitely a learning experience for me, as I was required to think quickly and provide students with further tasks to continue of
with. In this example, I advised students to work on their assessments (no homework policy at Indie School) so it was not wasted time. I
will take this experience into my future planning and teaching, noting that this relates to knowing students and understanding how learn.
