As I had observed the class and built relationships with the students, I was confident in being the teacher in the classroom. It is essential to
remain calm, particularly in this case as a number of students mental health issues were triggered by yelling. Furthermore, using multiple
teaching strategies I learned from my Supervising Teacher, plus others from my own inventory allowed me to maintain a safe learning
environment, and promote student participation.

I had the goal of learning all students' names as soon as possible, and felt accomplished once I had done so. This was invaluable as it sped
up the building of rapport with the students, as well as my ability to manage challenging behaviours.

The Behaviour Management Policy was an invaluable aid as I was able to quickly become aware of consequences should there be any
behavioural incidents, and students were quickly made aware that I was privy to this policy and its included procedures. This assisted
immensely with classroom management.
