I'll present customs issues during eid in my family environment

Before the covid 19, the celebration of eid at my place was very impressive. One week before eid
usually held a tradition that we used to call "thonk-thonk klek." Thonk-thonk klek is an art of beating
on bamboo or what we used to call a rhythmic "kentongan."

On takbir night we always held takbir's show around. The mobile vehicle usually includes decorated
trucks and then the accompanying call from takbir itself. The people in my town are excited about
takbir walking around by themselves

In the morning we performed eid prayers like everyone else after returning from eid al-fitr prayer we
ate together and then went to the family and then went to the neighbor's house to apologize to
them for the wrong we had done. If any family went home, we usually spent time with our extended
family.

One week after many eid in my homtown there was "kupatana" and" sedekah laut ".

The "kupatan" tradition is a valid celebration practiced by the Javanese people in my area by the
open house to be visited by others. We would serve our guests by eating the ketupat and by giving
the ketupat to nearby people

Whereas "sedekah laut" was a tradition still carried out by the people along the coast usually carried
out in the "sawal" month intended asa form of thanks to the Lord. The bountiful fruits of the sea are
a gift from god and are considered a blessing by our people.
