    Ignition Timing: Adjustments


    Ignition Timing
    PROCEDURE

    1. Start and warm up engine.

    2. Using a jumper wire or Toyota SST 09843-18020, jump data link connector terminals TE1 and E1.

    3. Connect tachometer and timing light to vehicle.

    4. Check ignition timing for 3° BTDC at idle.


    5. If necessary, loosen distributor

    6. Remove jumper and recheck timing.


    7. Timing should vary between 2° and 13° BTDC at idle.
