cucumber. But it is not also a lap cat, it will prefer to sit beside you than to be carried or snuggled. The
British Shorthair cat has a quiet voice and is an undemanding companion but she is a fiercely loyal,
loving cat and will attach herself to every one of her family members. When they become mature, they
tend to be couch potatoes. They are rarely destructive and their manners are those of a proper
governess.

The British shorthair has a smooth and short coat which is simple to groom; weekly brushing
should suffice and the bath is rarely necessary. Despite her heavy boning and musculature, make certain
she keeps a proper weight and does not get out of condition. She must get adequate exercise.
Interactive play may be necessary to keep the breed in good shape. Because British Shorthairs are
considered to be one of those expensive cats, they are prone to be stolen. It is a good idea to keep a
British shorthair as an indoor-only cat to protect her from diseases and dangers.
