Self-management Skills
Complete the following table.

Time management:
How did you manage your time effectively? Do you often use reminders?
This term, I think I didn’t manage my time as well as I could have. To avoid this in
the future, I can use reminders to remind myself that an assessment is due soon, or
something along the lines of this. I previously didn’t use reminder but, in the future,
inshallah, I will.

Attribute:
What is the one attribute that was most important for your success in this term’s topic? How?
The one attribute that was most important this term to make sure I
understood this term’s topic was looking over the Arabic textbook to review
what we did in class. This made me understand it better.

Planning:
How much time have you planned for this topic in order to increase productivity? Explain.
I gave this topic about a few hours every day when I was studying
for the test. But this doesn’t say much as it was only for about 2
days, as I was studying for a test that takes place soon. In the future,
I should give at least 2 hours to understand the topic fully.

Emotions:
How did you feel about this unit? Explain your emotions.
I felt ok about this unit. Not very happy and not very sad as I think I
did alright. I do know that this topic taught me a lot that I didn’t
previously know.

Potential:
Did you achieve your potential(s) for this term? How? (or why not?)
I don’t think I achieved my potential for this term in Arabic. I
think I could have done better. However, given the
circumstances, I wouldn’t be too hard on myself. Along with
that, I barely understand Arabic.

Progression:
What are the things you plan to manage better in order to progress in language learning?

As I have mentioned below a number of times, I do not

understand Arabic apart from a few words. This obviously needs
to change if I want to progress in language learning. I need to
work hard for this. This requires all my attention and will.
