2. The name of the park has changed after the addition of two new massifs,
central and eastern ones.
3. You can see a lot of tourists attractions inside the park like alpine plants,
some of them found nowhere in the world and the scenic lakes as well Enol
and Ercina, also found as popular amongst tourists.
4. The park is most famous for the endangered species of the wolf and brown
bear and some of the last asturcon (wild horses).
5. The park is also populated by some birds of prey like Egyptian and griffon
vultures, eagles, goshawks and harriers.
6. The author hold that the park is not a wilderness area because some people
are living there doing their activities, making some parts of the park a farmed
landscape.
7. After the Spanish Civil War the park has suffered a lot, entering in a recovery
period the exploitation of it has increased by mining, building hydroelectric
schemes on the Cares and Dobra rivers, timber extractions and fishing.
8. The farmers cleared the forest and a scrubland of heather and broom
developed in order to regenerate the forest
