Dual Air Chambers:

Ion Counter to contain 2 independent chambers for a negative and positive electrode to provide
readings to a dual operational amplifier.

Supply Power: 12VDC

Readings and Output Range:

0.01 - 10VDC Analog Output: Terminal screw connectors
Range 10-10,000 ions per cc
Simultaneous output of positive and negative ions

Anything reading over 12,000 ions/cc to output “error”

Output voltage = 10,000 ions = 10 volt
1,000 ions = 1 volt
100 = .1 volt
10 = .01 volt

Required Calibration:
Assembly Calibration: need to calibrate the readings and output during assembly.
Field Calibration: provide a test point to calibrate on the field, (ground to set zero).

Reverse Engineered Files:

We performed reverse engineering on the AlphaLab Counter. Their counter requires a manual
switch to choose between negative and positive readings from a single air chamber and
electrode. Our system does not require this switching due to the desired dual output of negative
and positive simultaneously with 2 chambers/electrodes. Either Way, the RE files provide useful
information regarding the design of a current reliable system.
