Guidelines on the implementation of the Elementary Basic Education Curriculum

1. What are the Subject Nomenclature and Description of the subjects in English, Science and
Health, Mathematics, Filipino and MAKABAYAN?

English (Listening Access varied information and creatively use them in spoken and written forms;
speaking, communicate fluently and accurately orally and in writing, for a variety of
reading, writing purposes and different social and academic context at their level while carrying
out activities in everyday life.
Science
Filipino Nagagamit ang Filipino sa mabisang pakikipagtalastasan (pasalita at pasulat);
nagpapamalas ng kahusayan sa pagsasaayos ng iba’t ibang impormasyon at
mensaheng narinig at nabasa para sa kapakinabangang pansarili at pangkapwa
at sa patuloy na pagkatuto upang makaangkop sa mabilis na pagbabagong
nagaganap sa daigdig.
Makabayan Sapat na kaalaman at kamalayan sa mga pambansang pagkakakilanlan,
kapaligiran at pagpapaunlad ng kabuhayan, agham at teknolohiya;
Mapanuri at malikhaing pag- iisip tungo sa mapanagutang pagpapasya sa mga
isyu o usaping kinakaharap;
Pagpapahalaga sa sining, musika , laro, sayaw at iba pang bahagi ng kultura
gayundin sa pagiging Pilipino at sa kanyang karapatan at pananagutan bilang
mamamayan;
Positibong saloobing sa paggawa upang makapamuhay nang produktibo sa
isang bansang mapayapa; at
Kakayahang makaagapay sa mabilis ng pagbabagong nagaganap sa mundo.
Mathematics Demonstrate understanding and skills in computing with considerable speed
and accuracy, estimating, communicating, thinking analytically and critically,
and in solving problems in daily life using appropriate technology.

Schedule of Collection of Authorized Voluntary Contributions

1.  The collection of authorized voluntary contributions for SY 2002-2003 is hereby
authorized and scheduled as follows:

Boy Scouts                          September 1-November 31, 2002
Girl Scouts                          September 1-November 31, 2002
2.  All of these contributions shall be on VOLUNTARY basis and shall not be made a
requirement for clearance purposes in case of admission, promotion or transfer of
students to other schools.
3.  School officials should seek assistance from their respective local government
units for the payment of these authorized voluntary contributions in order to
minimize the need for collecting from students.
4.  School officials should ensure that the process of collection does not lead to any
disruption of classes. All collections shall be remitted to the recipient-institutions on
the day after the collection period.
5.  Quotas for collections should not be set by any school official or representative of
the recipient-institution. Therefore any deduction from teachers’ salaries for failure
to meet the expected collections is strictly prohibited.
6.  The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP),
Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) and Philippine Tuberculosis Society have been
requested to instruct their local committees/chapters to furnish the school under
their coverage the financial statement for their respective areas. The school
principals shall be given copies of financial statements by the BSP/GSP local councils
in their area and by local chapters or units of the Philippine National Red Cross
(PNRC) and Philippine Tuberculosis Society (PTS). These financial statements shall be
posted in a conspicuous place in the school premises for the perusal of students and
parents.
7.  Any violation of this Order including cases of unauthorized collections or
authorized voluntary collections made a requirement for admission, promotion, or
transfer will be dealt with administratively.
