LEVI´S PANTS.
Levi Strauss was in Europe with his brothers, but his dream was to go América to Look
for gold. But, at last Levi came from Europe to look for gold in América. His brothers
were poor; they had very little money. They gave Levi some things to sell on his trip.
They gave him some cloth to sell. Levi sold his best cloth to pay for the trip. Then he
sold more good cloth on the ship.
Now Levi was in San Francisco, he had to begin to work to get some noney. He did not
have any more good cloth to sell. Now, he had only a little Canvas to sell. Levi sat down
to think: “ I am willing to work hard, but to find gold I need money and help”.
One day, an old man walking down the street said to Levi, “ Young man ¡¡¡ Do you
have some cloth to sell? A seaman on the ship bought some cloth from you”.
“ I am sorry, Sir. I sold all my best cloth on the ship. All I have now is some Canvas”.
“ You haven´t any good cloth? I need pants. It´s too bad you do not have any good
cloth for pants”
“ People working in the mountains need strong pants. But the cloth in San Francisco is
not strong. So People in the mountains always need new pants”.
“ Why do People need good cloth for pants? Asked Levi.
The old man walked down the street, Levi thought fast. He ran after the old man . “ Sir
“, said Levi. “ I will have some pants for you tomorrow. They will be very atrong
pants. You can wear them I the mountains for a long time”:
Levi went to a tailor. He asked the tailor to make some pants from Canvas cloth. The
pants were very strong and useful. The next day, Levi, sold the pants to the old man.
The old man went to the mountains to look for gold. He wore the pants in the
mountains. They were useful and strong. The old man told his friends about the
pants. Many people wanted to buy Canvas pants from Levi.
In 1851, Levi started a store. Levi made and sold many Canvas pants. Everybody
wanted to buy them. He was very busy. He asked his brothers to come from Europe to
help him. They came and the three brothers were very happy.
 Levi made all the pants from blue Canvas, he made special pockets with metal corners
to make the pockets strong. Before long, people wore Levis in the cities, on the farms,
and in the mountains. They were the best pants to wear for hard work. People called
the pants, “ Levi´s Pants “. Later they called them “Levi¨s “. Today Leli´s is the Name of
Canvas Pants. Many people wear Levis. Levis came from the dreams of a young man
from Europe. He went to América To find Gold. He found gold – making and selling
LEVIS.
