RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

Research Design

The researchers used a non-experimental correlational research design to determine

the relationship between the students and online business as livelihood. This

methodology and designs was selected because it affords opportunities to describe the

correlation of quantitative variables.

Sampling

The sampling method used in this study is quota sampling. It describes a non-

probability sampling method in which respondents are selected according to specific

traits or qualities. The respondents, composed of Grade 11 and 12 ABM students in

Moreno Integrated School, were specifically chosen. The course and school are the

criteria that specify the characteristics that the students must have to be included in the

study. In this study, the respondents had to be a senior high student who’s currently

taking up an ABM course in Moreno Integrated School and who’s willing to participate

in the study.

Data Collection

The researcher used survey questionnaires to gather data. It was mailed to each

respondent selected for this study. Respondents were requested to complete the

questionnaire. A message was sent to each of them in accordance to what Suskie (1996)

1
stated, reminding respondents to complete the questionnaire contributes to the likelihood

of doubling the initial response rate after the first mailing.

Data Analysis

This study used the following statistical tools in interpreting the data: frequency,

percentage, and Pearson correlation. Frequency and percentage were used to identify the

interest level of SHS ABM students of Moreno Integrated School in online business as a

means of living. The Pearson correlation was used to measure and evaluate the linear

relationship between the independent variable (the students) and the dependent variable

(online business as livelihood) and their association with each other.
