Applications are invited from citizens of Sri Lanka for the post of Engineer in the Road Development
Authority.

Post of Engineer (Civil) MM 1-3

Educational and Professional Qualifications and experience.

External candidates : ( 1 to 5 below)

01. Minimum Qualifications - 1. B.Sc Engineering (Civil) Degree from a University in Sri
& Experience Lanka or equivalent Civil Engineering Qualification
recognized by the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL)

Or

Passed parts I & II Examination (IESL) or other relevant

examinations conducted by the (IESL) or Institution of Civil
Engineers U.K.
Or

B. Tech Degree in civil Engineering from the Open

University of Sri Lanka

With

IESL Associate Membership and a minimum of one year

post qualifying experience in public service, cooperation,
statutory board / Institution or a reputed Private Institution.

Or

2. Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below than

National Vocational Qualification Level – 7, issued by a
Technical / Vocational Training Institute accepted by
Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.

With

IESL Associate Membership and a minimum of three (03)

year post qualifying experience of Civil Engineering in the
public service, cooperation, statutory board / institution or a
reputed private institution.

Or

3. An officer in the RDA who has completed Third

Examination (GTO) for Technical Officers conducted by the
Commissioner of Examinations.
02. Age Limit - Below 45 years (Age limit will not apply to those who are
presently employed in Govt. department, State Corporations
and Statutory Boards)

03. Salary Scale and Grade - (MM 1-3) Rs.55,925 – 1,375 x 16 – 77,925/- plus
Government approved allowances.

04. Terms of Employment - The appointment will be on permanent basis.

05. Other Benefits - Employees’ Provident Fund contribution by the Authority is

12% against 8% by the Employee plus and additional
contribution of 3% towards Employees’ Trust Fund and
government approved allowance.
