08 November 2017 To whom it may concern, 1 am writing this reference letter to support the graduate admission application of Mr. Samiul Ehsan Chowdhury in your University. I have known Mr. Chowdhury for the last 16 months in my capacity as a teacher as well as research supervisor. Mr. Chowdhury attended my course on Data Mining during his senior year of undergrad studies. It is one of the more advanced courses offered during the undergraduate curriculum in this university and most of the students were finding it difficult to handle complex topics like Decision Trees and Neural Networks in a very short amount of given time. To his credit, Mr. Chowdhury was one of the very few students who successfully managed to cope up with all the course work and received top grade. This indicates his superior intellectual ability as well as dedication towards the task in hand. After the completion of the course, Mr. Chowdhury volunteered to work under my supervision for a long- term research project on building a nationwide Electronic Medical Records database prototype. In the early stage of a very big project where still a lot of the specifications were yet to be decided, he capably took the task of collecting possible data fields and categorizing them. This did not only require the commitment to do a lot of groundwork but also initiative to face real world scenarios and categorically formulate them into the project specification. This attributes should help him extensively in the field of Computer Science research.
