Should you live with your parents or by yourself

during university?

Many young people who enter higher education choose to study in their hometown and continue
living with their parents throughout their university years. Although there are several potential
downsides to this way of living, there are also numerous benefits.
First of all, living with your parents can be quite an option because you don’t need to pay rent or
spend much money on food. Even better, if you have a job you can save up. Yet another positive
aspect is that you get to keep your room yours and don’t have to share it with any other person,
which means you will feel quieter.
Despite these clear advantages, there are also several drawbacks. The first downside is that your
liberty is somewhat limited. You can’t organize parties or invite friends over too often. This can
somehow affect your social life. Other minuses are that as long as you live with your parents,
they are your “boss”, especially if you’re from Albania and this can be quite troublesome when it
comes to social opinions as nowadays a university student is supposedly grown and slowly
becoming the breadwinner, at least for himself.
All things considered, there are pros and cons to living with your parents during your university
years. The important thing is to try and get the best of both worlds and enjoy as much as you can.
