Introduction

1 Introduction

This document is a general description of Enclosure 6150.

29/1551-LZA 701 6011/1 Uen N | 2017-11-08 1

Enclosure Description

2 Product Overview

Enclosure 6150 converts AC power to -48 V DC power to radio systems and

auxiliary equipment. The Enclosure also supports both internal and external
battery backup.

Note: The battery temperature sensors are required as Enclosure 6150

stops or starts charging batteries based on the battery temperature.

For external battery backup, Enclosure 6150 must be connected to a

battery enclosure with sufficient ventilation for the hydrogen gas
generated during battery charging.

2.2.12 SAU 02 01

The Support Alarm Unit (SAU) is an alarm connection panel that connects
external alarms and transmission cables through the Overvoltage Protector
(OVP). The external equipment is connected to the SAU through an OVP-
ALM8. The SAU monitors the pair cable to see whether it is a closed loop or
an open loop. The alarm is then reported to ESC 03 01.

Note: If a configuration uses more than four external alarms through OVP-
ALM8, the configuration needs an SAU as well.

The DIN-rail supports placement of a maximum of three OVP-ALM8

and an SAU, thus supporting a maximum of 24 external alarms.

Power System Functionality

4 Power System Functionality

Power system features are defined and controlled by the power system
controller. This functionality is applicable for configurations containing an ESC
or SCU.

For more information on the controller, see Power System Controller User
Guide.

4.1 Power Controller Monitoring Functions

The power system controller provides energy-saving management and battery
charging-discharging management. It displays the value of the system voltage,
load current, battery voltage, battery current, battery temperature. It also
displays information regarding AC power distribution detection, alarm reports,
control of load disconnection and battery protection functionality.

4.2 Alarm Functionality

The power system controller has capabilities to alert the user of alarms
through LED-lights as well as by using sound. Crucial alarms are also sent to
and handled by the ESC 03 01. There are three levels of alarms: CRITICAL,
MAJOR, and OBSERVATION alarms. Users can set the level of each alarm
according to the actual situation. Users can also set the corresponding relay
output, or NO relay output for each alarm type.

Users have access to history alarm logs and current logs. The history alarm
logs include alarm type, start time, and end time, while the current logs only
cover alarm type and start time. The logs are displayed in chronological order
of start time. The latest 1000 history alarm logs can be saved at most.

4.3 ESC and SCU Functionality

The control unit enables remote management and supervision of site
equipment:

• Configuration Management of power system parameters using CLI or

Ericsson Site Controller Management System (ESCM).

• SNMP v2/v3 alarms to management system.

• Performance Management

Climate System

7 Climate System

This section introduces the composition of the climate system.

7.1 Air Flow Path

The heat dissipation is realized through a heat exchanger fitted on the door of
the integrated cabinet. The internal circulation is as follows: Hot air produced
by the equipment enters from the top, passes the heat exchanger, cools down,
exits from the bottom, and blows towards the equipment to cool the
equipment. The external circulation is as follows: Cold air enters from the
bottom and exits at the top, carrying away heat from the internal circulation.

When the heat exchanger is working, the internal circulation fan starts and
stops at preset temperature points (the default start temperature is 15°C and
the default stop temperature is 5°C) and keeps running and adjusting the
speed according to the ambient temperature inside the cabinet. The external
circulation fan starts and stops at preset temperature points (the default start
temperature is 35°C and the default stop temperature is 30°C). When running,
the external circulation fan adjusts its speed according to the ambient
temperature inside the cabinet. The air flow path is shown in Figure 41, Figure
42, and Figure 43.

The equipment compartment that HEX is cooling is separated from the battery
compartment. The battery compartment uses natural cooling mode. The
hydrogen discharge holes are reserved on the cabinet door and at the bottom
of the cabinet floor, which help exhaust emissions generated by the working
battery. For Enclosure 20 kW Air Conditioner, the battery compartment uses
an air conditioner for cooling.

In case of fan failure, an alarm signal is sent to the fan control board for alarm
monitoring.
