2-List 5 disadvantages of eating an artificial sweetener.


● Trains your body to reject weaker sugar tastes, like regular sugar.
● People who consume artificial sugars often overuse sugar in other foods.
● Research also shows that artificial sweeteners train our bodies to associate
sweetness with low calories.
● May be carcinogenic and dangerous.
● Artificial sweeteners may have gross aftertastes.

are: good, bad, safe, unsafe, healthy, unhealthy, addictive, help with weight loss, cause
weight gain, etc.

I think that artificial sweeteners are physically fine for your body. A lot of people
think that they cause cancer, or that they can build up in your blood, but they are actually
pretty safe. Just like everything else in nutrition, you have to consume them in
moderation or they can hurt you. If I ate a whole box of cheerios, it would probably
negatively affect my body. If I drank 2 liters of Diet Pepsi, it would probably hurt my
body. Another key factor is how often you are consuming these added sugars. If you
drink a diet pepsi or diet dew every once in a while, these sweeteners aren’t going to
hurt you. If you drink a bottle of diet dew every single day for 15 years, you may have
some toxic buildup.
While these sweeteners are safe, some of the mental components may be
dangerous. If we are constantly eating these strong tasting sugars, when we eat regular
sugar we tend to massively overeat. The only problem is this time, it isn’t an artififcial
sweetener, and the sugar contains a lot of calories. I think that while these can be good
for weight loss, people also misplace their eaten sugar. People tend to think, “I just had a
diet soda, so know I can eat a piece of regular cake.” This kind of thinking, not eating,
leads to the problems with these sugars.
