COURSE TITLE: INTRODUCTION TO REGRESSION
ANALYSIS & EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS
COURSE CODE: STAT-2042
DATE: 30TH DEC, 2020
ABSTRACT
In this task I’ve done a few inquiries with respect to the Analysis of Variance. By this we have
performed fundamental One Way Anova and Two Way Anova techniques, latin square design
(LSD), Least Significance Difference and Duncan’s Test.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I’m thankful to my teacher “MISS JAVERIA SIDDIQUI” who taught me this subject and made it
easy for me to understand and practice this subject. It’s quite interesting to learn and practice in
such a manner. I present a humble gratitude to my teacher for all the cooperation provided by
her till now.
1. Three brands of batteries are under study. It is suspected that the lives(in weeks) of the
three brands are different .Five batteries of each brand are tested with the following
results. Are the lives of these brands of batteries are different.

i) Perform the analysis of variance & test the hypothesis at the 0.05 level of significance that
the 3 brands of batteries are different.

ii) Use Duncan’s Multiple range test & least significant difference test .
2. The mathematics department of a large university wishes to evaluate the teaching
capabilities of 4 professors. In order to eliminate any effects due to different mathematics
courses & different times of the day, it was decided to conduct an experiment using a Latin
square design in which the letters A,B,C&D represent the 4 different professors. Each
professor taught one section of each of 4 different courses scheduled at each of 4 different
times during the day .The data on the following page show the grades assigned by these
professors to 16 students of approximately equal ability. Use a 0.05 L.O.S to test the
hypothesis that different professors have no effect on the grades.
