Giving an Analytical Response

How to approach the task


1. Think about what you are being asked to do: giving an explanation, compare, speculate, etc.
Namely, choose one of the suitable expressions in the columns above.
2. Make sure you give two sides of the argument if necessary. (Use while, although, however,
but on the other hand…)
3. Quickly develop a few ideas. Even if you do not have an experience or knowledge about the
question, you must make up ideas.
4. Begin your answer with an appropriate expression.
5. Make sure you give a to-the point answer. Do not wander around the topic.
6. Make sure you can support or justify your opinion.
