NOTE:
The Hyper Terminal setup as displayed here can be used for all AGFA HealthCare
printers and digitizers.
Instead of the HyperTerminal following other programs can be recommended to
connect to terminal level:
• xt:
xt.exe is an AGFA program, which is part of the IMOS package. It can be
started in a DOS box by typing "xt".
• IMOS Start Menu:
The IMOS Start Menu software has a terminal built in. Select "tools - terminal".
Depending on the configuration of IMOS Start, either a DOS box with xt will be
opened or a Hyper Terminal window will pop-up.

*Recent service PCs auto-detect the type of connection and allow direct connection from PC to printer via
"normal" network cable. If after IP address adaptation of the service PC the printer homepage is not
displayed, use a crossed network UTP cable.
To connect the printer and the Service PC via network, usually the IP address of the
Service PC has to be adapted.
Proceeding:
(1) Look up the printer IP address and subnet mask in the printer key operator menu
"1 Show settings - 3 Network (DICOM)".
(2) Define an IP address for the Service PC by adding or subtracting "1" to the last
digit of the IP address.
Example: Printer IP address = 192.168.2.4
Service PC address = 192.168.2.3 or 192.168.2.5
(3) Enter IP address and subnet mask. See:
• Section 3.4.1: Adapting the PC Address if Operating System is Windows XP
• Section 3.4.2: Adapting the PC Address if Operating System is Windows Vista

NOTE:
*Default Subnet Masks (set for NO subnetting):
Symptom 1 Infocounter section 4.1, Current TH statistics, shows too little film cycles.
Cause In some cases the cycle counter for the current thermal print head is not increased.
Solution In software 6.0.4_C1 all cycles are taken into account to increase the film counter in the
infocounter section 4.1, Current TH statistics.
Symptom 2 Infocounter section 4.3, Component Reliability, does not log if the new type of
Thermal Head with spare part number* CM+3617930 is installed.
* The last digit in the spare part number indicates the spare part revision at release of
this document. When ordering, the actual revision of the spare part is delivered.
Solution In software 6.0.4_C1 the new type of Thermal Head is logged in section 4.3, Component
Reliability.
Symptom 3 Printer sporadically jams in the area of the MDM (Macrodensitometer), if 8x10 inch or
10x12 inch films are printed for:
• Quality Control
• Film Calibration
• MDM Calibration
• TH profile calibration
• Registration Calibration
Cause Distance of lower film edge and MDM (Macrodensitometer) is too close.
Solution In software 6.0.4_C1 the distance between MDM and lower film edge is increased,
preventing, that the MDM collides with the film.
Symptom 4 In very rare cases it is possible that the software installation of software 6.0.3_C2 via
remote_emergency_install.bat file is not completed: After the timeout of the installer a
failed installation is indicated. The logfile shows “wait on themis booted”.
Cause In some rare cases an additional reset at the end of the installation procedure via
remote_emergency_install.bat file is required.
Solution Workaround for software 6.0.3_C2: Perform a manual reset of the printer (Switch off/on).
In software 6.0.4_C1 an additional reset is initiated at the end of the software installation.
Symptom 5 Printer sporadically stops printing when only a few films are left in a film tray.
Opening and closing the respective film tray is required to solve this problem.
Cause Empty sensor falsely detects an empty film tray if the last films are curled. This empty state
is however not evaluated.
Solution In software ≥ 6.0.4_C1 an additional empty check routine is initiated if the empty sensor
switches. This empty check routine is able to determine curled films: Printing will continue
until the last film is printed, even is films are curled (and trigger the empty sensor).
Symptom 6 If the Mammo license was first enabled and is disabled again, the user message
"Currently no Mammo license active in this printer" is not shown at the local display
during boot-up.
Solution In software 6.0.4_C1 the flag to display the "Mammo license warning message" is present if
Mammo license is disabled.
Symptom 7 With software < 6.0.4_C1 it is possible to install the DRYSTAR 5500 / DRYSTAR 5503
software via remote_emergency_install.bat file on another printer type, for example
DRYSTAR 5302. This software is not compatible however to other printer types.
Solution When executing the remote_emergency_install.bat file the printer type is checked as of
software 6.0.4_C1.
Symptom 1 Display “Error – System Failure” during boot-up. This can happen, if the printer is
connected to a 1 GByte network with high network traffic.
If the network cable is disconnected during boot-up the error does not occur.
Symptom 2 Display “Error – System Failure” after Themis CPU replacement. This can happen,
if the printer has software 6.0.1_C1 or 6.0.2_C1 installed.
Cause Incompatibility of Themis CPU, spare part number CM+3589081, with software
6.0.1_C1 or 6.0.2_C1. See also NOTE next page.
Symptom 3 Printing test images from the key-operator or service menu may take very long
time: It is possible that the printer hangs for more than 30 minutes with display “99%
calculating”.
Symptom 4 Error 11321 if the printer gets filmpack no. 201 without ever being rebooted
between filmpack no. 1 and filmpack no. 201: The tag history is corrupted.
Symptom 2 If several modalities send several images of one examination in format 14”x17”,
these images are printed in an unsorted sequence. The customer has to sort the
images manually after printing.
Symptom 3 If during multicopy printing (i.e. more than one copy of a film) a film tray gets
empty, a film jam occurs.
Symptom 4 For some GE modalities, e.g. GE Senographe Advantage WS, the sent image is
slightly too large compared to the control data sent via DICOM. The true size
accuracy lower than 4% (GE specs) on 10x12” films is not achieved.
Cause The default layout for 10x12” films is too small for GE Senographe modalities, as the
detector is 24 x 31 cm large.
Symptom 5 The OEM-luts (look-up tables) 900, 901 and 910 to 923 were available via
MEDNET, GSO library only (Hardcopy => General Hardcopy Info => General
Services Info => Application Info => DRYSTAR OEM Look-up Tables). They had to be
sent to the printer via ftp, before they could be selected in the host profile window.
Cause OEM-lut package 900, 901, 910 to 923 was not part of any DRYSTAR 550X software
release yet.
