199/00/00/MP/TS/NA/000112 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR FITTINGS

2.1 Design and dimensions
Forged socket welding and threaded fittings shall conform to ASME B16.11.Caps, bushes, hexagon nipples, pipe plugs and unions shall
be forged. Fittings made from rolled bars or bar stocks are not permitted.Couplings, welding bosses, round or swage(d) nipples shall be
forged or manufactured from seamless pipes. Fittings made from rolled bars or bar stocks are not permitted.

O-let fittings shall comply with MSS SP 97. Self-reinforced fittings for 90° butt weld, socket weld and threaded branch connections shall be
in accordance with MSS SP 97. Vendor shall be able to produce calculations sheets if requested by the purchaser and will precise at bid
stage the range of run diameters on which the same fitting can be welded.

Wrought butt welding fittings shall conform to ASME B16.9. Fittings shall be designed for pressure ratings fully equal to those calculated
for seamless pipes of the same or equivalent materials.
Flame cut weld bevels are not permitted.
Wall thickness of elbows NPS 12” and above shall not be in excess of more than 30 % of thespecified wall thickness.

Upon specific request coming from flexibility analysis, if specified to meet ASME B31.3 Appendix D note 11, design of equal and unequal
tees will meet the following technical requirements:
- the crotch thickness of the branch outlet of butt welding tees shall be no less than 150% of the
nominal wall thickness of the tee.
-The crotch radius of the branch outlet of the butt welding tees shall be no less than 12.5% of the
branch outlet outside diameter.

2.2 Out-of-roundness and tolerances

Tolerances shall be in accordance with the applicable material code/standard in which the fitting is
manufactured with, except:
- for NPS 26 and larger diameters: the out-of roundness or difference between major and minor
outside diameters at weld end shall not exceed 6 mm;
- for carbon steel, low temperature carbon steel and alloy steel butt welding fittings NPS 26 and
larger, the minimum wall thickness at any point of welded fittings shall not be less than 0.01 inch
(0.3 mm) under the specify wall thickness;
-For fittings NPS 26 and above, wall thickness shall be measured to verify that the tolerance is no
more than 0.3 mm under the nominal wall thickness.

2.3 End preparation

Bevel ends as per ASME B16.25 figures 2 (a) and 3 (a)
Socket welding ends as per ASME B16.11
Threaded ends as per ASME B1.20.1
Flanged ends as per ASME B16.5
2.4 Welding
1. Welding consumables shall be selected in accordance with current list of approved welding
consumables published by acknowledged bodies,
2. The same type of welding consumables used in the procedure qualification shall be used for
production welding. A change of manufacturer, brand or type requires requalification.
3. Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) process shall not be used for welding.
4. For welded fittings, all welds including welds in tubular products for which fittings are made shall be
radiographically examined throughout the entire length of each weld.
5. When “100% Radiographed” is included in the item description, longitudinal weld seam shall be
fully examined radiographically and a weld joint factor of 1.0 shall be guaranteed.
6. Repair by welding is not acceptable for forgings.

2.5 Heat treatment

ASTM A105 forgings shall be normalized.

2.6 Material requirements

1) Chemical restrictions
The chemical composition of carbon steels (including low temperature carbon steels) to be used for pressure containing parts shall
comply with the following:
- Carbon content shall not exceed 0.23%
- One of the following carbon equivalent requirements, based on the ladle analysis, shall be satisfied:
Ceq= C + Mn + Cr + Mo + V + Cu + Ni ≤ 0.45% (1)
6 5 15

Ceq = C + Mn ≤0.42 % (2)

6
Formula (2) may be used if the material standard specifies C and Mn only. Otherwise formula (1) shall be used.

2) Raw plate material for fittings ASTM A234 grade WPB for non-sour service shall be ASTM A516
grade 65.

3.0 TEST AND INSPECTION

The manufacturer shall conduct tests and/or inspections in accordance with the relevant codes and standards listed in Para. 2.0 and the
additional requirements of this specification together with the following:

(1) The manufacturer shall perform Tests and/or inspections under the manufacturer's own quality control and shall provide sound
quality products.

(2) The manufacturer has the responsibility of providing the Purchaser's inspector with all specified information, and the inspector shall
have free access to witness or audit the manufacturer's quality control at the manufacturer's facilities throughout the time while work on
the products is being executed, as deemed necessary.
4.0 MATERIAL CERTIFICATION
1) BS EN 10204 3.1 type certificate shall be required
2)The language used within material certificates shall be English. Certificates in other languages are acceptable provided that they are
accompanied by English translation of the contents.
3)Certificates shall be complete, unambiguous and legible over the full contents and care should be taken that copies present a full and
clear reproduction.
4)Certificates shall be dated and signed by an authorized person whose name and position shall be indicated on the documents.

5.0 MARKING
1)All fittings shall be marked in accordance with the standards to which the products are manufactured and additional markings specified
in the purchase order. As a minimum, they shall be marked in compliance with MSS SP 25. Ident code is required.
2)Indelible stencilling marking is acceptable instead of die-stamping.

6.0 OTHERS

(1) This specification has priority over the others specified in the applicable documents.

(2) Manufacturer shall submit manufacturing, tests, inspections, and welding procedures for Purchaser's approval prior to application.

(3) All conflicts between the requirements of this specification, related specifications, standards, codes, and the purchase requisition shall
be referred to the purchaser in writing for clarification before proceeding with the manufacture or acquisition of the affected items. The
purchaser will issue confirming documentation if needed for clarification.

(*1) Bidder shall fill in the compliance with each requirement by [ X]. If Bidder fills in column of "Not Complied"
due to some reason, please submit the reason separately.
(*2) Key items only, Bidder shall confirm the details in each document
