Introduction to Database Management System

Data Processing: The activity of processing data using a computer is called Data Processing or
Electronic Data Processing. The goal of Data Processing is to transform data into Information.
Data: The raw or unorganized collection facts and figures associated with an individual, an entity or
an event that does not convey any meaning is called as Data. The data can be represented with
characters, numbers, symbols, images, audio, video, documents etc. Phone Number, Weights,
Prices, address, product name, age or name of a person are example of data.
