Bill and his Presentation

By: Sandy Najm

Bill was freaking out. The weekend flew so past and it was already Sunday

afternoon when he remembered he had a presentation to prepare for. Mrs. Coin had

asked grade 7 students to choose their favorite animal and prepare a small

presentation to share it with their friends,

Bill placed the lemonade cup on the counter and ran to his room to get the

paper and the pencil. He then started to think about his favorite pet. An hour flew

by before he had finally picked one – dogs. He started writing what he knew about

dogs. All he could think about was their outer appearance.

He then noticed his dad’s car going into the garage. He rushed towards him

begging him for more information about dog. His dad shared a couple of facts

about dogs especially about color blindness. However, Bill was not convinced by

that fact so his dad got down the huge Encyclopedia book that was on the last shelf

of the old and rusty bookshelf. Bill searched alphabetically to find more

information about dogs.

Later on, he got a big white cardboard from the closet and started to plan his

presentation cardboard. He left some space for the pictures to be placed and then

designed the title and wrote down the information.

After that, he got the old magazines that his mom had and started searching

for a picture of a dog. After finding few of them, he cut them and then glued them

to the cardboard.

It was late at night and he became so tired so he decided to go to bed. He

hoped that he’d be the last to present in class so he could have some time to

prepare for the presentation.

Bill woke up late to school and he had to rush to get there on time. When he

entered his English class, the teacher surprisingly asked him to be the first to

present. He managed to read from his cardboard but stuttered at times. It wasn’t the

best that he did but he managed to fulfil the objective.

After receiving feedback from his peers, Bill sat in his place and thought

about ways he can turn his presentation into an interesting and interactive one.
