ANG HULING EL BIMBO (THE MUSICAL)

This is one of the well-known local Theater play in the

Philippines, because it was premiered last year during the ECQ.
The musical was shown to the public in purpose to raise
donations, its main goal is to help the Front-liners through
financial support. And might as well introduce to the public that
there is beauty and creativity in Philippine musical. Ang Huling
El Bimbo is a so sentimental to the Eraserheads fans, with the
help of this play the audience gets a chance to reminisce the
wonderful music of the band. Marlon Rivera who is also known as
the man with many hats was in-charge of the casts costume, for me
the costumes were very minimalist yet shows the style of the late
90s. The set background or the scenic design was is made by Gino
Gonzales, his deigns were very keen and meticulous that’s why its
not hard to understand every time the location changes. The main
actors of the play were Gab Pangilinan who played as Joy, Hector
(Bibo Reyes), Emman (Boo Gabunada), and Anthony (Phi Palmos .As
we know the music all throughout the play was from the albums of
the said band, everything of it was the idea of the whole
management yet the one who was in charge of the music background
was Myke Solomon. The music is the main focus of the musical
that’s why the one who is in charge of it must put much effort to
his job. The musical is all about The Struggles in the life of
students who are striving to achieve their dreams. It also talks
about the Love of Joy towards her Aunt, Love to her friends. Thus
to Hector her beloved, Also her unconditional love and sacrifices
for her daughter who is Ligaya. For me, This musical play speaks
a lot about the life of a simple Filipino and as a local I am
delighted to be reminded by this play that even when life gets
tough we must be more tougher. And remember that we face
challenges to be more resilient.
