1. Who is the main character in the film? Describe him/her. Make sure that you will include the
following details:

1.1 Name: Lili Elbe/Einar Wegener

1.2 Age: Lili was 48 years old when she underwent her gender reassignment surgery

1.3. Sex: Transwoman

1.4. Character Background: He was a man famed for being a famous painter, and he had a wife Gerda
Wegener whom she met at the Royal Academy. After posing as a woman for portraits of Greta, she finds
her real self and becomes gradually strongminded to live her life as Lili and leave Einar behind. When
Greta first asked him to pose as a lady, Einar was very shy and was also conflicted. On the other hand,
Lili is flirty, adventurous, and seductive. She is freer than Einar.

2. What happened to the main character? What do you think is the main reason for her plight? What are
the triggering factors that led to her advocacies?

Einar had noticed a side of him that he had never known he had before. In some circumstances
in which he found himself imitating a child, he found himself. He enjoyed it and thus started his quest to
be the first transgender.

This was originally prompted when her then-wife, Gerda Wegener, asked her to substitute a
drawing as a model. Gerda was completing her latest drawing, but on that day, the model for her
portrait could not do it. So she needed backup, and she convinced her partner, Einar, to dress up as a
girl instead of becoming her model for the portrait. Suddenly, the original model, Oola, comes late and
sees Einar posing for the portrait of his wife and she is happy with it. She also hands him a flower and
advises him that Lily, after the flower, should be his name.

Second, when he is dreaming, Gerda draws Einar. However, it's not clear whether the subject is
male or female in the sketch. Gerda shows the drawing to Einar and tells him she looks gorgeous. Also, a
scene is revealed in Einar's history. Einar and his childhood friend Hans were playing pretend relatives.
Einar wore an apron and he was kissed by Hans because he thought Einar looked beautiful.

Lastly, Einar is invited to an event with Gerda. But Einar does not want to attend because he
knows that as a musician, people will fawn over him. So Gerda says that like her cousin named Lili, he
might go in disguise. As a child, Gerda dresses him up and applies make-up to him. Then Gerda
introduces him as her cousin, Lili. A man sees Lili in the middle of the crowd and is fascinated by his
beauty. They're flirting with each other and even kissing.
3. Do you think that the main character is too radical? How did you say so?

In my perspective, Lili, the main character is not that too radical. She was just being true to
herself. Expressing her views and opinions the way she wanted people to know her. At first, it might be
intriguing because not everyone will like or accept her for what she is but living her best life is what
matters most. When she is genuinely herself, Lili succeeds. It is not only about the body, but when it is
allowed to be itself, it is the inner being that feels free.

4. Using the distinction between sex and gender, explain why the main character has been advocating
for equality.

Simply stated, she decided to inspire all entities. It has to do with personal identities and how
society treats people. A clear point that the main character promotes is that the same rights, liberties,
and choices are earned by all genders of different sexualities. Not just that, but also for us to realize that
by working together and overcoming racist attitudes, transsexuals will also improve our community.

5. Are you in favor of gender equality in social legislation? Why or why not?

Yes. I'm firmly in favor of gender equality in social legislation. Everyone is affected by gender
inequality, may it be families, men, women, trans, and gender diverse individuals, and even children.
This affects individuals of all ages and backgrounds. We desperately need gender equality. No matter
where we work, gender equality is a basic human right. This avoids abuse against different sexes and
genders. For economic growth, it's significant. Societies that respect diverse individuals are healthier
and safer. All profits from equality between genders.
