Viktor Cukaj

On today’s lecture we discussed about common mistakes in writing different

articles. One of them is the space that should be left after a comma or full-stop.
Example: I have been to America, Ireland and Italy. Right
I have been to America,Ireland and Italy. Wrong
After, we saw paragraphs and its features, its definition and its main
characteristics that a paragraph should have. Before a paragraph we should
always use an intended paragraph and it means leaving space in the first line.
Than we sorted out the components that a paragraph should have which are:
1. A paragraph should consist about one topic
2. Has at least 5 complete sentences
3. It should support the main idea where the whole topic stands by
4. Is a building block of papers
5. Paragraphs must be related and meaningfully connected to each other
6. Use as much synonyms as possible to avoid.
On the part two of the lesson, our topic of discussion was how to construct
such a paragraph. We need these elements to do so:
1. Topic sentence, the first sentence which has the role to introduce the
topic.
2. Supporting sentences or the body sentences which support the main idea.
They come after the topic sentence of course.
3. Transitional words.
4. The closing sentence which gives the conclusion.
Then we talked about the essential things that a great paragraph must have:
1. Unity
2. Order
3. Coherence
So in the end we learned if you want to write a well-developed paragraph, you
need to complete all the things said.
