Dear Mr. Reithmaier,

This is in response to your 19 May 2021 Freedom of Information Act(FOIA) request.

Your request was received via ePAL at AFPC/DSMIF on 19 May 2021, and assigned FOIA case
number 2021-02873-F. Your releasable information request seeks the following:

Request records associated with USAF MSG (Medical Service Corps) officer
selection board meeting in Ju! 2020 and Jun 2021. Scope of records include 1)
policy/guidance/documents given to the board on how to select candidates, 2)the
assessments or after-action-reports or similar documents of the board members or staff
on the results of the final selection, and 3) policy/guidance/documents related to
determining the quota of candidates that shonid come from AFPC's active duty enlisted
or USAF Academy population versus AFRS's civilian applicant population.(Date Range
for Record Search: From 01/01/2021 To 05/19/2021).

Some ofthe responsive documents are normally withheld under Title 5, United States
Code (U.S.C.), Section 552(b)(6). Information in personnel and medical files, as well as
similar personal information in other files, that, if disclosed to a requester, other than the person
about whom the information is about, would result in a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal
privacy. Release of information about an individual contained in a Privacy Act System of
records that would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of privacy is prohibited, and could
subject the releaser to civil and criminal penalties. If the information qualifies as exemption 6
information, there is no discretion in its release.

In accordance with DoDM 5400.07_AFMAN 33-302, AFPC determined a discretionary

release of selected third party names and contact data due to rank, position, and/or previous
contact. Other names below director/ 0-7 level are redacted and exempt under FOIA guidelines.
Releasable data was selectively segregated from otherwise non-releasable documents.
