The Misuse of Drugs Act 1975 which is administered by the Ministry of Justice is connected to the following legislations
administered by the following departments, any campaign to repeal the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975 must also address the
following legislations as they work together:
1. Agricultural and Veterinary Medicines act 1997 which is administered by the Ministry of Primary Industries

In a ACVM Alert bulletin 20-001 issued by the Ministry of Primary Industries, it mentions that Industrial Hemp or Cannabidiol
cannot be fed to animals which is mentioned below
If industrial hemp is being considered for use as animal feed, that animal feed would be

subject to all of the following Acts and Regulations at the same time:
1.1 the ACVM Act and Regulations, which regulate feed as an agricultural compound and oral nutritional compound;
1.2 the Misuse of Drugs Act and its Regulations, which would make the feed a Class B controlled drug due to the presence of
THC; and
1.3 the Medicines Act and its Regulations, which would make the feed a prescription-only medicine due to the presence of
CBD.
