 Receive By Faith

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto
you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh
it shall be opened" (Matthew 7:7-8).

T he Lord Jesus never lied to anyone. He was always vivid in His communication;
He was never evasive. He said what He meant and meant what He said. He said
in the Scripture we just read, “…everyone who asks receives. Anyone who seeks, finds. If
only you will knock, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7 TLB). So what’s the problem
with so many Christian folks, why don’t they receive answers to their prayers?
You see, the Lord Jesus taught us how to pray and also taught us how to receive
answers. Prayer is of no use if there’s no receiving. Praying without receiving is religion
and religion gives you nothing! Prayer wasn’t meant to be a religious formality. Religion
will compel you to pray as a rite and discourage you from looking forward to having
any answer to your prayer. On the other hand, religion can also make you see prayer as
an avenue to get God to do something for you. This can only bring frustration when
there are no answers!
In Mark 11:24, Jesus said “…What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that
ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” In other words, when you pray; believe that
you have received and then you shall have whatever it is you asked for. That means,
when you pray God answers, but you’re the one to do the receiving. How? It is by faith!
There’s an attitude for the child of God and that’s the attitude that determines whether
you receive answers to your prayer or not; and it’s the attitude of faith! Here you are;
you’ve prayed and asked God for a particular thing; if you truly believe the words of
Jesus, you ought to rejoice and declare immediately “Wow, thank you Jesus! Glory to
God; I’ve got what I’ve asked for!” Even though you’re yet to see it with your physical
eyes, you begin to act like you’ve already received what you asked for, right from the
moment you prayed. Yes! That’s how to receive. That’s the principle of receiving.
